This partnership is about more than naming a charity partner for the year. It is about standing beside an organisation whose work is brave, necessary and deeply human. Manchester Dinner Club is built around strong relationships, honest conversation and bringing good people together. Supporting The Maggie Oliver Foundation feels like a natural extension of those values, but with real weight behind it.
Founded in 2019, The Maggie Oliver Foundation exists to support survivors and those at risk of childhood sexual abuse and exploitation, helping them live fuller lives with dignity, respect and proper support. Its work includes emotional support, advocacy, legal guidance, referrals and trauma-focused services, all designed to help survivors move from isolation towards strength and recovery.
There is also a powerful story behind the Foundation itself. Maggie Oliver, the charity’s founder and chair, is known as the former detective who resigned from Greater Manchester Police in 2012 and went public over failings linked to the Rochdale grooming scandal. That history gives the Foundation a clear sense of purpose. It is not simply there to offer support, but also to push for truth, justice and meaningful change.
That matters to us. Manchester is a city with resilience in its bones. It is ambitious, outspoken and full of people who care about doing things properly. We wanted our Manchester charity partnership to reflect that spirit. The Maggie Oliver Foundation is not just doing important work behind the scenes. It is helping survivors be heard, helping families find support and campaigning for systems that are fit for purpose.
Throughout the year, we will be looking at ways the Manchester Dinner Club community can support the Foundation, raise awareness of its work and play a small part in helping it reach more people who need it. That will include opportunities for members, guests, partners and ambassadors to get involved as the year unfolds. The Foundation also actively welcomes support through volunteering, donations and fundraising, which gives our network several practical ways to back the cause.
As Manchester Dinner Club continues its 2026 journey through venues including Tattu, San Carlo, Australasia and Sora, we are proud to do so with a charity partner that represents courage, compassion and action.
We are honoured to support The Maggie Oliver Foundation and look forward to sharing more over the months ahead.
